AIDA 1 STAR FREEDIVING COURSE
The AIDA 1 Star Freediving Course introduces students to freediving. In this course you will learn the basic theory of freediving, how to prepare for a breath hold, and how to snorkel/freedive safely. This course is intended for complete beginners who want to learn to snorkel or freedive no deeper than 10 meters, or as an introduction class that will lay groundwork for more training at a later date.
- One full weekend day or equivalent

COLD WATER & BREATH HOLD FOR STUNT PERFORMERS & SAFETY DIVERS

This workshop combines the AIDA 1 STAR Freediving course with information about cold water safety and tips and tricks for performing on camera.

AIDA 2 STAR FREEDIVING COURSE
This course is designed for beginning freedivers who are already comfortable or have some experience in water and covers all of the knowledge and skills to safely freedive with a buddy with or without a guide line. In this course we expand on everything from the AIDA 1 STAR course and introduce all the skills and techniques that will allow you freedive safely to 20 meters. Completion of this course also means you can join our open water and pool training sessions to further develop your skills and meet local divers.

PADI FREEDIVER COURSE
Taking the PADI Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.
To enroll in a PADI Freediver course you must be at least 15 years old. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.
The PADI Freediver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge development about freediving principles through independent study with PADI Freediver eLearning (or your instructor may conduct class sessions if not available in a language you understand).
- Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea. Goal – static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet.
- Open water sessions to practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, plus proper buddy procedures. Goal – constant weight freedive of 10 metres/30 feet.

AIDA 3 STAR FREEDIVING COURSE
The AIDA 3 STAR is intended for freedivers who have completed the AIDA 2 STAR (or equivalent with another training organization) or have participated in AIDA ranked competitions.
The AIDA 3 STAR builds on the AIDA 2 STAR and will assist you in developing new skills and a higher knowledge of safety procedures and techniques including free fall, Frenzel, training tables etc. It is a required course for any freediver that would like to complete the AIDA 4 STAR and then begin training to become an AIDA Freediving Instructor.
Prerequisites are either the AIDA 2 STAR course or an equivalent course from another freediving organization OR participation in 5 AIDA ranked competitions within the last 6 years with specific AIDA ranked results and completing with a passing grade the AIDA 2 STAR exam.

AIDA 4 MASTER FREEDIVER COURSE
FREEDIVING COURSE
The AIDA 4 Master Freediver Course is the highest level of training attainable within the scope of recreational freediving. Students will learn techniques, knowledge and safety procedures for deep freediving that go beyond recreational freediving, such as FRC diving, mouth-fill equalization and packing. Students will develop their skills within these categories of freediving: Static Apnea, Dynamic Apnea, Constant Weight, Free Immersion and Variable Weight (optional), even though the main focus is on Constant Weight. Besides in-water skills, students will be introduced to full
body warm-up and stretching, specific stretching of breathing muscles, training concepts and nutrition to benefit freediving development. Also, an introduction to packing and reverse packing mainly within vital capacity is part of this course.
Another purpose of this course is to prepare successful candidates for the role as “assistant Instructors”.
This includes:
- Leading an appropriate warm-up session for confined and open water freediving
- Supervising students of all course levels during their confined or open water sessions, under supervision of an Instructor.
- Independently setting up and managing open water equipment: use of appropriate knots and braiding technique, setting the depth on the dive line, safe handling of other additional equipment (bottom plate, lights, lanyards, etc.).
Prerequisites are completion of the AIDA 3 Advanced Freediver Course OR completion of the AIDA3 Crossover Evaluation if crossing over from another freedive agency or having other adequate freediving experience
and a current First Aid with CPR certificate (completed within the last two years)
