The purpose of the Foundations of Diving program is to focus on specific theory and practical work to assist students in improving their knowledge, skills and ability – the Fundamentals of Diving. The program will develop fundamental diving skills such as buoyancy, trim, propulsion and awareness as well as cover important theory topics including equipment configuration, communication, team work, dive planning and handling diving emergencies. These skills are important to all divers, but will strongly benefit any divers interested in pursuing activities such as underwater photography, deep diving, wreck diving and technical diving. Theory topics will include:
- Equipment and Configuration
- Communication – Hand Signals – Light Signals
- Trim Buoyancy – Proper Underwater Positioning
- Propulsion
- Descents and Ascents
- Awareness
- Team Work and Positioning
- Dive Planning
- N2 and CO2
- Diving Emergencies
There are 4 open water training dives that will include essential skills such as buoyancy control, obtaining proper trim, propulsion techniques, smb (surface marker buoy) deployment, ascent strategies, handling diving emergencies and much more.
This unique diving program is guaranteed to greatly improve your diving abilities and awareness in the water. Program can be taken in single, doubles or sidemount cylinders. All level of divers welcome!
