“Howe Sound into the Deep” Sponge Reefs, Rockfish Protection and Sharks – Glen Dennison

July 12 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Ocean Quest as we welcome renowned Underwater Explorer, Citizen Scientist and Marine Life Advocate Glen Dennison for an incredible discussion on what lies deep below the surface in our Howe Sound waters.

Over the past 25 years, Glen has discovered several Glass Sponge Reefs known as Bioherms throughout Howe Sound. These Sponge Bioherms were once thought to be extinct in the Jurassic period (over 100 million years ago!). Since then, Glen has become a driving force for the continued exploration and protection of Howe Sound.

Glen’s presentation will cover the wide range of the work his team has focused on over the last few years including Sponge Reef protection, Rockfish Conservation and the discovery of Six Gill Sharks right here in Howe Sound!

You will not want to miss this!

Snacks and Refreshments provided.

This presentation is free – limited space – please register below.
