Course Overview
The PADI Drysuit Specialty course is a fun and safe way to learn how to dive dry. Drysuit diving is much more comfortable for any diver who wants to explore the beauty and wonder of our local Vancouver Dive Sites as well as explore the cold emerald waters of British Columbia. Proper training will enhance your skills and make the transition to drysuit diving fun and easy and best of all – you’ll be warm!!!
The Ocean Quest Difference…

In addition to teaching you the basics of using a drysuit, your instructor will also assist you and give you tips to improve your decents and ascents, your buoyancy and trim as well teach you advanced finning techniques.
Ocean Quest conducts this program on an individual basis, contact Ocean Quest and book your course today! Weekend and Midweek training available! In some cases, we may add students to the course but we never exceed a 3 – 1 ratio.
Prerequisites
- Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
- 12 years old
- Recent diving experience within 12 months. If you have not completed a dive within the past 12 months, please contact Ocean Quest prior to registering
Medical Statement
All students must complete a Medical Statement prior to any in water activities. Please consult Ocean Quest if you answer “yes” to any of the medical questions as you may need to see a physician prior to the course start date.

- Small student to instructor ratio – to ensure the best experience possible, Ocean Quest commits to a ratio no larger than 3 students per 1 instructor
Ocean Quest exclusively provides Aqualung Fusion Drysuits in our rental department. Fusion Drysuits have a unique design that offers a custom fit for almost every diver, in addition, you will be provided with custom fitted neck and wrist seals. Custom fitted neck and wrists are the only way to ensure you will stay dry during your dives.
What’s needed?
- Base layer undergarments – Thin Merino Wool, Polypropylene or Polyester work best. Avoid cotton
- Warm socks – Super warm ScubaForce X-Sox are available to students for a discounted price of $78 (Reg $89)
- Optional Dry Glove Upgrade – Wetsuit Gloves are provided – Students have the option to purchase Marigold Gloves to use a Dry Gloves. Marigold Gloves are used as part of a standard dry glove system. When combined with fleece glove liners, this system offers the best option to keep your hands warm in our local waters. If you have fleece gloves, you can simply purchase the Marigolds on their own. Ocean Quest has quality Scuba Force Glove Liners available if you do not have your own fleece gloves.

On-Demand Course
This program is available on an individual basis. Register for your training online and pick "I would like to schedule my own class start date". Weekend and weekday schedules available. Once we receive your registration, Ocean Quest will be in touch to confirm that we can accommodate your training request and officially book your course.
