Course Overview
Camps are conducted Monday to Friday where students will learn the basics of scuba in the pool and progress to complete 4 ocean dives. Successful completion will earn participants the most recognized scuba certification in the world – PADI Open Water Diver.
- Knowledge development will be conducted at Ocean Quest
- Pool dives and ocean dives are held off site
- Minimum age is 12 years old
- In order to properly fit equipment and carry the weight of the gear, students must weigh at least 100 lbs / 45 kg
- Students must visit Ocean Quest prior to course start date to pick up PADI Open Water Manual.
- Important paperwork including a Medical Statement must be completed prior to camp start date
- Parents or guardians are required to attend orientation on first day of camp (15 minutes).
- Equipment included - See note below about Mask and Snorkel Requirement
- Transportation to pool and ocean is included.

Mask and Snorkel Requirement
Due to the importance of fit, comfort and hygiene, the PADI Open Water Course does not include a Mask and Snorkel. Students are expected to provide their own personal mask and snorkel for the program. Ocean Quest students receive a 15% discount off all diving masks and snorkels.

MEDICAL STATEMENT
All students must complete a Medical Statement prior to any in water activities. Please consult Ocean Quest if you answer “yes” to any of the medical questions.

BASIC SWIMMING ABILITY AND COMFORT IN WATER REQUIRED
Students are required to complete a 200 m Free Swim or 300 m Swim with Mask, Snorkel Fins plus a 10 minute float for the course. Please contact Ocean Quest if you feel you may have difficulty completing this requirement.

Ocean Quest Course Transfer / Cancellation Policy
Ocean Quest strives to offer the best training available at all levels. To accomplish this, there is often a lot of pre-planning and logistics that occur prior to your course start date. This includes scheduling instructors based on group numbers, booking pool time, organizing equipment, etc.
