Course Overview
The PADI Tec Trimix Instructor course will train and certify you to conduct the PADI Tec Trimix 65 and Tec Trimix programs. The course will review knowledge concepts, hone skills specifically related to technical diving and apply teaching concepts.

Ocean Quest is the only qualified PADI Dive Centre to train PADI Tec Trimix Instructors in Canada.
A Tec Trimix Instructor is qualified to:
- Independently conduct and certify PADI Tec Trimix 65 and Tec Trimix
The Tec Trimix Instructor course consists of:
- Key concepts and standards from the PADI Tec Trimix program
- Review of Practical Applications related to the PADI Tec Trimix program
- Develops key technical diving skills to demonstration quality
- Reviews teaching techniques for knowledge development and in water sessions related to the PADI Tec Trimix
- Successfully complete the PADI Tec Trimix Standards Exam and Theory Exam
- Assist with a PADI Tec Trimix program
Throughout the program you will need to demonstrate familiarity and competence in PADI Tec Trimix Knowledge and Skills
Prerequisites
To enroll in a PADI Tec Trimix Instructor course, candidates must meet the following prerequisites:
- High level of technical diving skills and knowledge
- PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (or higher rating)
- PADI Tec 50 Instructor
- PADI Tec Trimix Diver
- Minimum of 200 logged dives with 20 technical decompression dives requiring at least one deco cylinder
- 10 decompression dives deeper than 130 ft / 40 m using trimix
Exit Requirements
- Have 350 Dives
- Have a minimum of 50 decompression dives deeper than 130 ft / 40 m beyond those required for certification of a technical diver
- Of the 50 decompression dives, have a minimum of 30 decompression deeper than 130 ft / m using trimix as a bottom gas
- Of the 50 decompression dives, have a minimum of 10 decompression dives deeper than 165 ft / 50 m using trimix with less than 21% oxygen
- Be 21 years old
Medical Statement
All technical diving instructor candidate are required to provide a Diver Medical Statement signed by a physician within the past 12 months stating you are fit to dive

There is a high expectation of technical diving knowledge, skills and experience to enroll in and ultimately succeed in passing any technical diving instructor program.
