PADI Tec Basics

The PADI Tec Basics Course offers a divers an opportunity to learn knowledge and fundamental technical diving skills to prepare themselves for the PADI Tec 40 or other technical diving programs.

This program can be used as a prefect way to learn how to use technical diving equipment such as backmount doubles and deco cylinder handling with sidemount configuration.

During your PADI Tec Basics course, you will learn about technical diving equipment configuration, foundational skills such as buoyancy, trim, advanced propulsion techniques and developing awareness as well as several essential technical diving skills such as valve drill, s-drills, dsmb deployment and many others.

Components from your Tec Basics course may be credited towards your PADI Tec 40 training.

Prerequisites

• Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
• Certified as a PADI Enriched Air Diver or qualifying certification from another training organization. For this course, a qualifying certification is proof of training in enriched air nitrox diving with training that includes gas analysis, cylinder labeling, oxygen toxicity, oxygen exposure, determining maximum depth limits, and planning enriched air dives with different enriched air blends (not just EANx32 and EANx36)
• Minimum age: 15 years

Medical Statement

All technical diving students are required to provide a Diver Medical Statement signed by a physician within the past 12 months stating you are fit to dive
